The Inspiration

"Lake Michigan has a unique and long-lasting effect on its shoreline and the people who call it home. This enduring impact serves as the inspiration behind the name Lake Effect HR". -Founder & Fractional HR Strategist, Felicia Heward

Meet Felicia Heward

Having obtained my Bachelor's degree and pursued a Master's in Human Resources Management & Labor Relations at Michigan State University, I forged my HR career within the corporate landscape.
I held a variety of Human Resource roles at notable organizations such as Boeing and General Electric. These positions provided me with a strong HR foundation and valuable insights into the significant role that the function plays in shaping both business success & work culture.

Then, one day the phone rang, and I was recruited to contribute my employee relations expertise to the startup realm, joining a fast growing company called Tesla.  It was that start-up experience that empowered me to take a fresh career path into the fractional space.

Today I leverage my HR knowledge and business experiences to make meaningful contributions as a consultant to small and medium sized US businesses experiencing growth and ready for a strong HR partnership through their journey.
